One of our partner cosmetic surgery and medical spa centers in California is looking to hire a full time Operating Room Director
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the surgery department.
- Maintenance of equipment, PM checks and supplies
- Oversee pre and post- operative care and safety on the day of surgery.
- Circulating, scrubbing, and first assisting (suturing)
- Performing a variety of tasks daily.
- Implant ordering and management
- Staff scheduling and time-off requests
- Hiring and training new and current staff members.
- Having staff available to run two OR suites Monday through Thursday
- All patient related care/ Chart evaluation and completion
- Lead and direct the work of all employees in OR.
- Communication with Patient Coordinators and Surgery Coordinators (LVNs) regarding schedule and any changes that will affect the operating room schedule
- Finalizing the surgical schedule and ensuring the schedule is accurately displayed in the EMR system.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Anesthesia scheduling and recruitment
- OR scheduling and efficiency
- Cost and benefit evaluation of all OR supplies and staffing
- Evaluation of all medical forms
- AAAASF accountability and performance to maintain all regulations
- Crash cart, MH cart maintenance, and lead emergency prepared drills and codes.
- Order all anesthesia and emergency medications for daily use.
- Pick cases for daily surgeries and back up sterilization of instruments.
- Clean and organize OR rooms for efficient turnover.
- Manage legal issues for consent and safety.
- Minor / Revision Rooms organization and ordering of supplies once inventory is completed by surgery coordinators (LVNS). Shared duty with head surgical tech.
- Prepare weekly metrics on Ninety.io.
Documents required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must have a registered nurses license issued by the Medical Board of the State
- of California
- Must have five years’ experience in plastic surgery
- Must have five years’ experience leading and managing a team
